Is there anything that can be done to prevent blue jeans from staining white trainers?
I've bought some new jeans and some new trainers, but I don't want to the blue to rub off onto the top of the trainers and stain them. Is there anything I can do to treat either the jeans or the trainers to prevent this from happening?

Sure. the trick is to wash them (at least once) and then to dry them in a clothes dryer. The dryer heat is hot enough to make the colors stead-fast so they do not bleed.
Source(s):
this treatment may shrink them a bit. they do stretch back when in use.

To get any excess dye out of them, just wash them, then they should be fine!

You should go buy the stuff that you spray on shoes and hats to make them water repellent, I think it adds a protective barrier, hey it's worth a try!
They sell the stuff at Lids the hat store
